His Holiness the 17th Karmapa was attending the Dalai Lama's teachings in
Dharamsala, and this
is his residence at nearby Gyuto University where he was staying during the teachings. He received us twice here, once
for a blessing ceremony and once to give us a brief teaching. This was an incredible honor coming from such a teacher,
and even I was deeply impressed when a rainbow suddenly appeared in the sky after the blessing ceremony.
This is also one of the most beautiful sites we visited, as the picture shows. With the Himalayas rising behind the
temple, you could almost believe you were in Tibet itself!
