Tibetan Quarter

next

Delhi was daunting, so a group of us took refuge in the Tibetan Quarter out on the far northern outskirts. It had a completely different feel than the rest of Delhi; even more crowded but somehow very sweet. And it was only a rickshaw and a Metro ride away from downtown, so it wasn't even that remote.

This is a picture of the main "street" taken from the balcony of our guesthouse; our room had a window looking out on this street, so we got the sounds and smells all day and night. Despite that it was actually a pleasant experience, and it was hard to beat the price - Christie and I together paid a total of $33 for four nights! There was no shortage of restaurants or shopping, so we holed up and recuperated after all our adventures.
